Mark Tapert

CEO/Owner

Mark Tapert is the CEO and Owner of Corstone Contractors LLC, where he is dedicated to creating value for clients while leading and motivating a team of highly skilled professionals. With over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, ranging from hands-on field work to executive leadership and ownership, Mark brings a well-rounded perspective to every aspect of the business. He has a strong passion for business development, cultivating long-term client relationships, and leveraging innovative technologies to enhance project delivery and drive continued growth in all aspects of the business.

Mark's leadership is centered on expanding Corstone's presence while maintaining a commitment to exceptional service, high value, and consistent performance for repeat clients. He plays a key role in shaping the company's strategic direction, fostering partnerships, and identifying opportunities that position Corstone for long-term success. Mark is a member of CEO International and is also involved in a national construction peer group. When he's not leading our team, you can find him traveling with his family, cheering on Seattle sports teams, or taking part in a wide range of outdoor activities.

John Parpart

CFO

John Parpart became an important part of the Corstone team in 2017. He brings more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and finance, holding previous positions as CFO, VP Finance and Controller for construction companies and land developers. John holds an MBA in finance and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). His background in engineering and business has allowed him to collaborate more effectively across the entire organization and lead initiatives in operations and financial services for Corstone.

When he isn't crunching numbers, you'll find him on the water wakeboarding and wakesurfing or camping with his family. He also keeps busy as Treasurer for Boy Scouts, soccer coach, umping little league baseball games and cheering on the Huskies.

Emily Klein

EOS Integrator

Emily Klein serves as the EOS Integrator, where she brings a proven track record of optimizing efficiency, driving process improvement, and leading high-performance teams. She began her career at Corstone in 2016 as a Project Coordinator before advancing to Construction Administration Manager, where she developed strong expertise in project administration, resource allocation, and risk management. Her ability to align people, processes, and priorities, paired with her strategic mindset, has propelled her into senior leadership, where she plays a critical role in executing the company's vision and ensuring accountability across all departments.

She is instrumental in fostering collaboration between teams, streamlining workflows, and implementing innovative technologies and methodologies that enhance operational performance. Her commitment to continuous improvement, clear communication, and results-driven leadership has significantly strengthened our team's ability to scale and deliver consistent, high quality-outcomes. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, embracing any opportunity to be in the sun, and having one too many shots of espresso.

Stephanie Van Gundy

HR Manager

Stephanie Van Gundy joined Corstone in 2016, holding multiple roles supporting recruiting and marketing prior to becoming HR Manager. She has a passion for people development, business promotion and marketing. She is also responsible for looking out for great talent to join the Corstone team. Prior to joining Corstone, she worked for several recruiting firms in the Pacific Northwest collaborating with clients to identify and fulfill staffing needs.

Stephanie holds a B.A. in Communication from Washington State University. In her free time, she’s spending quality time with her family and friends. 

Sean Barquist

Director of Field Operations

Sean Barquist has been an integral part of the Corstone team since 2004. He is Certified LEED AP and has worked on a range of roles and  projects for Corstone including retail, restaurant, and multifamily. He began his career in construction over 30 years ago out in the field where he developed a great understanding of civil work.

Sean is proud of the relationships he has developed with many of Corstone's repeat customers. He strives to bring quality to all of this projects with an attention to detail. When Sean isn't tending to our field staff, you'll find in the great outdoors camping and hiking or traveling to tropical destinations with his wife.

Ali Tapert

Residential Division Manager

Ali Tapert has held multiple positions within the organization and understands the full scope required to put together a project. She has successfully led the launch of a new residential division, expanding Corstone's capabilities and delivering high-quality residential projects. Her ability to be creative and provide innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis allows her to identify, adapt and resolve complex issues and find solutions to problems as they arise, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and with the highest standards.

Ali enjoys taking her 80 lb German Shepard, Bruce, to the dog park and spending time with her family and friends. When she's not in the office, you can find her traveling, working out or cheering on one of the local sports teams.
